Your baby is probably not at all interested in standing still and eating. They want to spend their whole day shifting from sitting down to standing up and sitting down again.

They will start to point towards things and the direction that they want to go. They like sound and music. Don’t be surprised if you find them bouncing to your favorite music playing in the background. Your baby loves when you guys talk, so make sure to keep the conversations going.

How much has your baby grown in the tenth month?

Every baby starts to grow in their personal growth rate after they have reached six months of age. They add about 400 to 500 grams every month in weight. If you measure the height of your baby, you might realize that they have grown about 10 inches in height compared to how tall they were during their birth.

Your baby’s gross motor skills

Help them practice walking by holding their hands and walking around the room with them. Slowly they will start to get a feeling or walking and be more confident with moving their feet.
How will your baby communicate?

Watch out for several non-verbal communication like asking you to lift them up by raising their hands towards you. They might also be more comfortable with showing your physical show of affection by cuddling or kissing.

They will have knowledge of basic household objects and understand its name. You can ask them to point at a certain object and they might be able to do so.

What should you feed your baby?

In a day, your baby should drink slightly less than a liter of milk in a day. You will feed your baby about 6 times everyday so you might still find yourself really busy.

Try to give them about 2 snacks of solid food that are safe and healthy at this age. Make sure that they aren’t allergic to your baby and watch out for any reactions if you are feeding them something for the first time.

Social and emotional skills at this age?

They are getting their baby teeth so it is understandable if they are irritable at times. Try to understand their discomfort without showing much disappointment on your face.

Around strangers, your child might be feeling anxious or scared as well. This is not something to get worried about and is a normal phase in toddler development. They will slowly grow out of the whining.

Best toys and activities for this age?

Some toys recommended for babies this age are:

  • Teething ring
  • Puzzles
  • Hide things and make your toddler find it
  • Read them colorful books

How much will your baby sleep?

Sometimes babies might not just go to sleep at night time. They might wake up in the middle of the night and start to crawl or play. If this continues everyday, their sleep cycles would be disrupted causing them to be more irregular.

To prevent a sleep regression make sure that you are sticking to their sleep schedules and that you have a night time routine that leads to bed time. It is possible that if your baby is tired from enough exercise during the day, they might not wake up at night.
